A Baby Shower

Since my last post Michael & I had a nice little vacation at our family home in the Florida Keys (aka paradise).  It was a wonderful little break from the craziness of our renovation.  I will post more about our trip later, but today I wanted to share some pictures from a baby shower that my mother in law and I hosted for our dear friends.  They are the first ones to have a baby out of our close friends and will be welcoming a sweet little boy into this world early September.  I had so much fun designing & creating all of the decor from invitations to banners & a mason jar filled beverage station.

Master Bath Textiles

I have a serious love for marble, however my budget does not allow for me to have a marble filled home.  Don't get me wrong, there will still be a lot of my favorite stone, but I am just trying to think a little outside of the box.  I have finally decided on all of the textiles for the master bath, and I think it is going to turn out beautiful.  I am going for the feel of a clean & coastal retreat.

Demo...check

We completed demo on Saturday!  That must be a record...three days to demo 2 bathrooms and a kitchen, which might I add are made with plaster walls and over an inch thick.  Our home was built in 1936 and they knew how to build a home.  The walls are thick, the structure is sturdy & the attention to detail is amazing!  So here is to gutting all of the ugly finishes, so that the beautiful details can be more appreciated.

Now that demo is done we the guys have moved on to plumbing and electrical, all the stuff that is important, as I am picking out all of the pretty finishes, which I think is most important. ;)
